Work
In my portraits I try to show more than just a good likeness. Give the viewer a litle something about the person behind the image. A character trait, an expression.
Expressions become stronger if all distractions have been taken away. If there is nothing to divert or hide behind. It is my attempt at communicating with the viewer. Direct contact with the emotions.
Practice begets art, and sometimes this gets out of hand. A technique I am trying, an effect that I’m after, or just an expression. Some disappear into the dark recessess of my studio, others don’t.
Ideas that capture me, or force me into some form of expression. Sometimes images are a better medium than words. This leads to an exploration of its meaning, and ultimately selfreflection.
